Lamfers and Associate’s redesign objectives were to modernize their web presence, to communicate more effectively with a redefined audience (housewares, specialty foods, technology, and healthcare), and to make future updates easy.

After identifying the features that would showcase the content, we agreed to start with a framework that had some of what we were looking for baked in. From there, I made visual modifications and recoded some of the modules to better suit the desired layout.

The team works together remotely yet firmly believes in close collaboration, so we scheduled a group photoshoot to get together and shoot new portraits of each team member, one serious and one playful (visible on hover). The portrait style comes from this image of Cate Blanchett because Debra Lamfers completed Aaron Walter’s Design Persona Exercise and picked Cate as L&A’s celebrity persona. The Saul Steinberg paper bag faces were a touch thought up by Debra and L&A Creative Director Barbara Phillips-Barrett, and each team member crafted their own. The shoot resulted in consistent, fun photos and was an effective way to get everyone on board with the new website.
